"Fantastic Mr. Fox" - Wes Anderson's Latest

I have to admit I'm a sucker for Wes Anderson's films. I think he's got very unique sensibiliites as a writer/director, and although he's criticized for being quirky for the sake of quirky, that's what I like about him. It's his unique voice. His newest is a Roald Dahl adaptation about talking animals.

Now were this another cg film about talking animals I might be more cynical, but this one's stop-motion! From this footage I'm not particularly impressed by the animation, especially in this era of Selick, Burton, and Aardman. The models look nice, but their movements are very stiff, not very flexible. Could be he's going for a retro-Rankin Bass look, though. Fair enough - I'll reserve my final verdict for the finished piece.
