Five years ago, Matisyahu came to Pittsburgh for his second show outside the NY area. My two friends and I were responsible for promoting the show for Chabad House - we hung up flyers all over Shadyside and sat on campus handing out demo cds.  Only fifty people showed up to the club for that show, but everyone knew the next time we saw him would be a sold-out stadium.

He had just gotten engaged and needed to get back to Brooklyn, so Saturday night at 1:00 AM my buddies and I made the eight hour trek with Matis back to NYC.  We spoke about a lot of things, but the one message I took was "If the Creator endowed you with talents, it's your obligation to use them." That's the conversation that inspired me to get back into art and animation.  Thanks, Matis. 

The new album "Light" comes out August 25th.  This single, "One Day," is my favorite song of his so far, and I really hope its message goes Platinum.
